 Just as good as Le Crueset August 18, 2010

I recently bought an induction range and much to my surprise needed to replace all my cookware. Other than the money, it wasn't much of a hardship because I love kitchen shopping. I started out by buying a 6.5 quart Le Crueset dutch oven. I knew my daughter had similar pan made by Lodge in enameled cast iron. I'd always fantasized about owning Le Crueset so it was important for me to get it out of my system. I love the Le Crueset and it confirmed for me that this type of cookware is wonderful. However, spending another $200+ to get Le Crueset just wasn't in the cards. Besides my daughter loved her Lodge. I gave it a try and honestly...I cannot tell the difference. Don't hesitate to go Lodge over Le Crueset.

I purchased this pot specifically to bake bread in. The recipe turned out perfectly. The crust was hard and crunchy and the bread texture was dense. Who'd a thought you could bake this kind of bread in a pot?

My intention was to use this to bake my artisan breads but haven't yet used it for that. However, it is wonderful for baking everything, from one-dish meals to casseroles to desserts. I love it, and recommend it to anyone!

Absolutely love my entire Lodge collection of enameled cast-iron pans! The only issue is the knobs which are not to be used above 400 degrees, so ordered La Creuset replacement knobs through Amazon.
My biggest problem was having the item shipped in a timely manner. When I purchased the pan using the Free Shipping, I was told "After your order ships, it will be delivered within 5-9 business days". My shipment was not shipped until 7 days after the order! After 5 exchanges of emails, Customer Service finally did something!
