Amazon.com Review Lodge Color is one of the newest lines from this respected American cast-iron cookware company. Traditionally shaped and more affordable than some European brands, Lodge Color enameled cast-iron is just as durable, requires no seasoning, and attractively serves at the table. Lodge infuses this 6-quart Dutch oven with two coats of hard-as-nails porcelain enamel, in a choice of several bright colors that are gradated (dark to light) on the exterior, and which are nicely set off by a cream interior. Embellished with concentric circles and a black knob, the lid, which also fits the Lodge Color 11-inch skillet, is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a stew or casserole on the stovetop and finish by baking it in the oven. The 6-quart Dutch oven measures 10-3/4 inches in diameter by 4-1/2 inches deep. Lodge enameled cast iron makes a smart choice due to its versatility--you can marinate raw meats in it, since it won't absorb odors or flavors, and you can braise, saute, simmer, and bake in it as well. Made in China to Lodge's meticulous specifications, each cookware item is first clad in matte black enamel before the color is added. The black rim that shows on the oven is actually the scratch-resistant matte enamel, not the raw cast iron. Though the Dutch oven is dishwasher-safe, washing by hand is recommended to best preserve the glossy finish. Look also for the pricier Lodge Enamel series, with its unique L-shaped lid knob, in a different set of colors and sizes to suit any kitchen. All Lodge enameled ware is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Easilly worth the money....so far August 31, 2010 Shawn Hedrick (Missouri) I purchaced one of these a few months ago, and use it all the time. It cooks well and cleans up easy. After reading
a few other posts about possible knob melting, i replaced mine with a stainless knob immediatly.
Honestly i use this more than my calpholon pots, and i'm now considering getting a larger 8qt dutch oven. I don't see how you can
go wrong. The bottom could be flatter but no issues at this point.
Damaged goods August 27, 2010 daisygirl Someone wrote a review posted two days ago that the dutch oven they received was broken - well, mine was defective as well. It arrived with a chip on a handle and the enamel finish was all messy and peculiar on one side. I was suspicious right at the outset because the box it was in appeared to me to have been opened and retaped. Proceed with caution as it appears in at least two recent instances Amazon is distributing damaged goods.
Broken on arrival. August 25, 2010 Rosa I wish I could rate and review this product, BUT, I received it yesterday and the handle was completely broken off. It got damaged during shipping. People do need to take more care in handling our items in the shipping process. I am scheduled to receive the replacement on the 27th. Will update on how that one arrived. For now I have to give it a 1 star for how easily it is to break.
Fantastic! August 25, 2010 Jill Jones (Peoria, IL, US) I own a more expensive enameled cast iron product, and this Dutch oven is of equal high quality. I am very pleased with this purchase & highly recommend!
Lovely August 18, 2010 D. Jacobs (Los Angeles, CA) I've only owned this pot for a few months, and use it on a weekly basis. I've only used it on stovetop so far, and everything I have cooked in it has turned out beautiful and tasteful. The pot gets up to high heat quickly, and often I just cover and simmer on low or no heat. Meats are tender and juicy and vegetables taste magnificent. Very pleased with this purchase.
